So Friday evening my good friend Jess sent me a text message asking me if I would like to meet her at the local winery for some awesome wine and good old girl chit chat. Of course after a long work week (OK it was only a 4 day work week but still work, right?) I was game. We had a great time discussing how our Christmas' went and how the kids were. She also has 2 boys so it's nice to have some girl time for her too! If you ever visit
Lau Nae Winery, definitely try their City Hall wine. It is so good!

Saturday I was greeted by my kids bright and early. (Good thing the night before wasn't too late of one.) We got dressed and headed off to my mom and dad's for the day since I had spoke to my soon to be sister in law on Friday evening about letting the kids get together on Saturday for a play date there. The kids had a blast. They played with micro machines and cars. We even were able to go outside for a while and play. The kids played in the leaves, my mom and I raked them. After lunch, Tad took a nap all by himself. This is a rare occurrence but made me very happy. The older two boys went out and played some more while my mom, dad and brother raked up more leaves. Wedding and remodeling talk was the subject of discussion inside. Once Tad woke up we took a walk in the woods and looked for deer tracks. I can't believe how excited the kids got when they found some (ps the tracks were everywhere too.) We stuck around for a little while longer and then headed home for the evening. Steve had a few friends over to watch the playoffs and the kids entertained them as well.

Sunday began with Sunday school and church. We ate some lunch and got the kids down for a nap. After naptime we ventured out to do some shopping. We were in search of some winter coats/snow outfits.
Old Navy had some for $20 each. Bart got the blue one and Tad got the red one. We also found some snow boots at
Target for $9 each too!
Now all we need is some snow!
My mom got Carter his snow gear for Christmas... that dusting of snow we had the Tuesday after Christmas Carter was chomping at the bit to take the gear to the sitter... we took it but the snow was melted by 10:30a.
ReplyDeleteAn yes bring on the snow because we want our engagement pictures in the snow.
