Fire House Field Trip

Yesterday we went to the Creve Coeur firehouse with Bart's preschool class.

Of course Tad thought it was appropriate to wear this on the field trip.
*Note he has different shoes on too.
The kids learned about when to call 911 & what you should do if you are on fire.
They got to see one of the firefighters suit up.
Here he is demonstrating how they crawl around in a house that's on fire.
He told the kids to come up & touch his jacket.
Since some of the kids didn't like him with the mask on, he took it off.
They were explaining the gauges on the firetrucks to the kids.
And then they got to walk through the firetruck!

Here they are explaining their living areas.
Since they are a full time/full staffed fire department, the fire fighters stay there for 24 hours.  So they eat, sleep, exercise, watch TV & even play the Wii in between calls.
AND they got to turn on the hose too!

 Bart's class
It was a fun trip.
I think the parents enjoyed the trip as much as the kiddos.
